Let us start at the beginning...
A lot has changed in the past one hundred years. In the year 2012 the economy crashed, an outbreak of the bird flu wiped out nearly a fourth of the population of the world and drinkable water became scare. Many called it the apocalypse but it was merely a chance for humanity to start over. And that they did. Many world powers changed, new governments taking charge and the Hegemony replaced democracy in the what was the western United States. And are using their power to silence anyone who speaks against them.
It is in the belief of the Hegemony that enlightenment can be achieved through complete control. And anyone who submits will be given the chance to live as equals in everlasting comfort and peace.
The Hegemony can't control everyone, beneath the bureaucratic and seemingly peaceful surface, a revolution is brewing. The Underground. A society based in the capital city of New Haven, composed of supposed Rebels and thugs who live by their own Unique code. In the Underground, the bohemian beliefs of Truth and Freedom rule the people's beliefs and actions. They don't take kindly to being controlled, and they're tired of the meddling Hegemony.
The Hegemony isn't blind to the Revolution brewing Underground. But their control in such area's only stretches so far. But they've dispatched Project:STORM. A top secret operation to flood the Underground and put out fires of the Revolution and force the key leaders of the Revolution into submission.
Now it comes to you, citizen of New Haven. Will you brave the exciting and dangerous life of the Underground or will you strive for the enlightenment of the Hegemony. |
